After agreeing to make a big mission portfolio, Kowalski and Skipper make a new mission, and Rico and Private must choose sides when the penguins begin to fight. Kowalski keeps infuriating Skipper's restrictive rules much to Skipper's dismay, and the boys are drawn into the conflict. The boys compare their strained relationship to Kowalski and Skipper's and then begin to fight so badly that Private quits as being Rico's friend. When the conflict between the two boys eventually threatens their lives, Kowalski and Skipper reconcile to reunite Rico and Private. Meanwhile, King Julien becomes obsessed with a big mango.
